The general ambiance is friendly, warm and comfortable and perfect for either the adventurist or the avid fisherman, with a professional fly tying table and fly shop in the day lodge. The surroundings are all kept clean, well-groomed and attractive, especially since the significant remodeling done in spring 2005.

The resort is well known for its down home hospitality, comfortable accommodation and excellent west coast cuisine and fine wines. Restaurant guests are treated to a 180 degree spectacular view of the lake and mountains beyond in Elysia’s licensed 60-seat dining room and patio. There are 2 chefs on staff that work out of a professional kitchen (remodeled 2005, to include a walk-in cooler and freezer).

The area from north of Horsefly to the south side of Quesnel Lake is sparsely populated. Much of this district is vacant Crown land and there are numerous surrounding small lakes and grand rivers offering great fishing and exploring on a mountain bike or quad.
